Lacy began her professional career in libraries and book preservation, where her love of making books bloomed. In her job as Preservation Librarian at the State Library of Massachusetts, she gained an inside look at bookbinding styles throughout the centuries. She was inspired to try binding and preservation techniques with fresh materials on her own time. It was out of this experimentation that Stoneburner Bookbinding grew. 
Lacy makes handmade journals, notebooks and note cards. In addition, she creates custom works for local and international clients, and offers preservation services for private and family collections.
