Open 7 days a week at 22 William Street in historic downtown New Bedford
Amy Thurber of Dove's Foot Pottery is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. She has explored and taught various forms of art for over 25 years. The objects we use in our lives should be chosen with care, made with thought, and contribute to the beauty around us.
Amy’s art echoes her close relationship to nature. She gardens for her art. Each leaf is coaxed into vases and vessels, plates, and platters, bowls and buttons. Amy admires the ephemeral quality of leaves, their uniqueness, texture, and life that pulses through their veins. Her goal is to capture leaves at a moment in time, as a fossil might, while adding a useful quality that allows us to embrace their essence a new way.
It all starts with an idea, full of potential, and ready to be transformed. Let's discover what we can create together.
