Chile
Tabali Transversal Red 2019 is a Chilean red wine from the Limari Valley.
ABV: 14%
The Blend:
An exceptional expression of terroir from four distinct vineyards—30% Cabernet Franc from Espinal, 30% Malbec from Río Hurtado (1,600 meters elevation in the Andes), 25% Syrah from Talinay, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon from coastal Maipo. Aged 20 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
A stunning wine of extraordinary complexity and elegance. The nose reveals enticing layers of dark berries, red currants, and plum wrapped in floral notes of lilac, with subtle hints of fresh herbs, mint, cocoa, and baking spice. On the palate, this medium to full-bodied wine offers lush richness balanced by vibrant freshness—ripe black fruit mingles with fine herbs, licorice, and graphite, all carried on finely polished, silky tannins with chalky minerality. The Cabernet Franc brings tension and vibrancy, Malbec contributes floral elegance, Syrah delivers blue fruit notes of blueberry and blackberry, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure with blackcurrant and cassis. The finish is long, balanced, and remarkably persistent.
Food Pairings:
Perfect with grilled tri-tip roast, beef tenderloin, venison, or lamb. Also excellent with hearty stews, aged cheeses, or roasted root vegetables. This wine's elegance and structure make it ideal for special dinners or gatherings with friends by the grill
