Pedra a Pedra Tinto is an approachable, fruit-driven Douro red made from indigenous grape varieties grown on schist-terraced vineyards. The 2020 vintage saw early bud burst and summer heatwaves that reduced yields, but our elevated vineyards (250-500 masl) produced full-flavored wines with good structure and balanced acidity.
Handpicked grapes are destemmed and fermented by wild yeasts at 20-25°C for 10 days on skins, using foot treading in granite lagares and gentle plunging in stainless steel tanks. After draining and pressing, wines undergo MLF in stainless steel tanks (70%) and old French oak (30%), then mature sur lie for 18 months. Touriga Nacional contributes texture and luscious red/blue fruits; Tinta Barroca adds juicy vibrancy; Touriga Franca brings structure and rich black fruits; and Sousão provides deep color and lively acidity.
