Luretta 'Principessa' Blanc de Blancs is an Italian white sparkling wine produced in the rolling Colli Piacentini hills of Emilia-Romagna, Luretta is an estate born from a traveling Frenchman's vision. Founded in the 1980s by Felice Salamini and Carla Asti, and now led by Lucio Salamini, the winery operates within the ancient Momeliano Castle, whose deep, cool cellars and thick walls provide optimal conditions for aging up to 500,000 bottles—some resting as long as 8 years before release—and 100 barriques. As a certified organic producer, Luretta takes pride in fusing French precision (oak techniques and varietals) with Mediterranean character (aromatic complexity and ancient Greek grape varieties), creating wines that honor both traditions.

The Principessa Blanc de Blancs exemplifies this approach with elegant restraint. Crafted from 100% Chardonnay using the traditional method (méthode champenoise), this sparkling wine ages for two years on the lees, developing depth and refinement within those storied castle cellars.

Tasting Notes:

In the glass, the wine displays a light, crystalline lemon hue with delicate, persistent bubbles. The nose is immediately captivating—tangy and briny with vibrant fresh citrus notes of Meyer lemon and lime zest, underscored by subtle minerality and hints of green apple. On the palate, a creamy, smooth bead provides luxurious texture, while the wine's refreshing acidity carries bright citrus flavors through to a clean, saline-tinged finish. This is a sophisticated, food-friendly sparkler that bridges old-world tradition with distinctly Italian character.
