Handcrafted by Casey Gunschel, these leather animals are made from one piece of leather; it is hand formed and completed with one stitch, sometimes two. Each animal is full of personality and we often find them exploring The Drawing Room's collections.
Leather
Artist, maker. Casey creates very small run collection leather pieces from her father’s old woodshop located in Marion, Massachusetts. With a background in traditional leatherworking techniques and a history creating large-scale custom leather works for the interior design world, Casey’s current interest focuses on the playful and intimate, culminating in a line of unique, well crafted leather goods.
With an ever-changing palette of design ideas, colors and leathers, Casey draws her patterns on paper, dyes her vegetable tanned leather in the sink, and stiches all of her pieces from atop an old stitching horse, by hand, and just like the artisans of old.
All leather goods are created with Casey Gunschel’s own two hands, with leather sourced from American and Italian tanneries, and guaranteed for life.
