Smooth and medium-bodied, this Portuguese red brings together dark berries, subtle spice, and a hint of rustic earthiness. Polished yet characterful, it's a versatile table wine — ideal with grilled vegetables, roasted meats, or cozy late-night conversations.
Fonte do Ouro Tinto 2021 is made from a blend of indigenous Portuguese grapes—Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, and Jaen—from the Dão region. The wine underwent fermentation with gentle maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation and 6 months aging in used French oak barrels.
Ruby in color, the wine displays aromas of red fruits, earl grey tea, and toasty oak. The full-bodied palate features elegant tannins with ripe bramble fruits and soft subtle spice before a smooth, persistent finish. Wine Enthusiast notes crushed strawberry aromas, ripe juicy black fruits, and light tannins in this almost mature wine with softened, fully integrated fruit. Serve at 16-18°C.
