Open 7 days a week at 22 William Street in historic downtown New Bedford
Marsh From the Bridge by Bobbi Heath is an original piece of art.
"Sometimes there are places I want to paint, but there's no place to stand without getting run over. This view was one of those. I took a quick photo and got back in the car to drive home and paint in the studio. I often use this scene in painting classes, because it's shows the quintessential New England shoreline salt marsh at its best. Beautiful in the sunshine at any tide."
8"x10" oil on canvas panel, framed in gold painted wood
Bobbi Heath is an artist in love with the New England coast. She paints bold and colorful oil paintings of that coast so that you can enjoy your summer memories all year round. Her painting journey was kicked into high gear when she discovered daily painting, the practice of regularly creating small paintings in a single sitting. Those paintings taught her a lot about the process. Once she could create a small painting in a few hours, she was enticed outside by the landscape, and especially that of our New England coast. And so she became a plein air painter, one who paints outside from direct observation.
As a lover and owner of boats, she finds those particularly fun to paint. She and her husband split their time between the Maine coast in summer and Massachusetts in the winter, where they're driving distance from some amazing harbors. And there she finds her inspiration.
