A beautifully traditional Barbera characterized by rustic charm, this wine offers a friendly red wine experience with pronounced aromas of stewed tomatoes and freshly cracked black pepper. The wine displays an intense ruby red color with aromas of ripe red berries, blackberries, sour cherries, and typical hints of plum jam, accented by spicy notes of mint and anise.
On the palate, the Castlé is dry, full-bodied, and dense with a beautifully balanced structure. It features lots of dark berries, pleasant spiciness, some mocha, and velvety tannins, all supported by the grape's characteristic juicy acidity. The finish is long-lasting and invigorating.
The Barbera grapes come from the Castellero and Preda vineyards, organically farmed vines planted in 1991. Following traditional methods, the Barale family ages this wine for 12 months in tonneaux and at least 6 months in the bottle, eschewing the trend of barriques to allow the pure expression of fruit to shine through.
