The book includes 100+ allegry-free recipies for those who love to cook. There are paelo, specific carbohydrate diet, gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, dairy-free recipies and information about food and nickel allergies. When someone asks Amy to describe her diet, the inevitable next question is, "So...what DO you eat?" Her diet sounds like most peoples: fruits, vegetables, meats, seeds. But it are the omissions that have people flummoxed: sugars, grains, nuts, dairy, starchy vegetables.

Essentially, she's eliminated anything that causes inflammation, or an allergic reaction in her own cooking. Allergies are on the rise, and learning to prepare foods that those with allergies are able to eat can be fun and enjoyable. When you feel good on your diet, it’s all the incentive you need to keep it up. Eating pure foods also has significant health benefits for everyone.

About the Author

Amy Thurber of Dove's Foot Pottery is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. She has explored and taught various forms of art for over 25 years. The objects we use in our lives should be chosen with care, made with thought, and contribute to the beauty around us.

Amy’s art echoes her close relationship to nature. She gardens for her art. Each leaf is coaxed into vases and vessels, plates, and platters, bowls and buttons. Amy admires the ephemeral quality of leaves, their uniqueness, texture, and life that pulses through their veins. Her goal is to capture leaves at a moment in time, as a fossil might, while adding a useful quality that allows us to embrace their essence a new way.
