Twelve Bottles, One Price, and a Wine Cellar Worth Raiding
The Drawing Room Mystery Cases are here. Order in October, pick up in November, and let the holidays take care of themselves.
There is a particular kind of relief that comes from opening the pantry in mid-December and rediscovering a case of wine you had the good sense to buy in October. No last minute run. No settling for whatever is left on the shelf. Now you have a bottle for the neighbor who stops by, a bottle for the holiday table, and a bottle to savor.
That is what these cases are for.
We are releasing the remaining Drawing Room wine cellar as Mystery Cases: twelve bottles, hand selected by us, $300 a case. That works out to $25 a bottle across a cellar that averages well above that at retail. You choose the style. We choose the bottles. This is an extraordinary value for extraordinary wines.
Choose your case
The Red Case. Twelve reds, built for roasts, braises, long tables, and cold nights. Portugal, Italy, Spain, and France, with a few things from further afield.
The White Case. Twelve whites, crisp through rich. Shellfish, cheese boards, Thanksgiving turkey, and every appetizer you will put out between now and New Year’s.
The Mixed Case. Three bottles of bubbly, two rosé, four whites, and three reds. It is the only case where the rosé lives, and it is the most versatile in the lineup if you are hosting, gifting, or simply want one purchase that solves the whole season.
What is actually in there
It is a surprise, but to give you a few details, the cellar we are drawing from includes Croatian whites you cannot find anywhere else on the South Coast, Douro and Dão reds from Portugal, Roero Arneis and Valpolicella and Montefalco from Italy, Vinho Verde, Cava, Prosecco, Lambrusco, Rioja, and sparkling wine from Westport Rivers right up the road.
Every bottle in every case is a wine we chose, tasted, and stood behind. That is our standard.
How it works
1. Order online starting October 7, 2026. Head to the online collection and pick your case.
2. Choose your pickup date at checkout. Saturday November 7, Sunday November 8, Saturday November 14, or Sunday November 15.
3. Come get your wine. Pickup at 1 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford, MA, 11am-2pm. Bring a friend, or bring a hand truck. Twelve bottles is heavier than it sounds.
And then there is the Reserve Case
The Reserve Case is twelve bottles for $500. It is drawn from the top of the cellar, the part we bought carefully, held back, and opened for ourselves on good nights. Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits and a white Burgundy from Meursault. Grower Champagne from small houses in the Côte des Blancs. A single vineyard Muscadet that drinks like something four times its price. Etna rosato from Sicily. Durello spumante from the Veneto. California pinot noir from the Central Coast. A library vintage blanc de blancs from Westport Rivers.
Retail on the bottles going into these cases runs close to $700. This is not a volume offer. It is the exceptional wine, sold once, and then it is gone.
If you have ever asked us what we drink at home, this is the honest answer.
Same October ordering window, same November pickup dates.
Cellar Selects
There are a limited number of wines in this cellar that we are not going to hide inside a mystery case.
Cellar Selects are sold as single bottles at a discounted price, first come first served, until they are gone. These are not wines that usually go on sale.
Domaine Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea. Biodynamic Côte de Nuits from one of the great names in Gevrey, from a parcel Trapet has farmed for generations. A wine for a night you will remember.
Olivier Guyot Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Sorbets.. Premier cru Morey from a horse plowed, organically farmed domaine. Structured, savory, and built to keep.
Jean Pernet Millésime Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, 2009, 2012 and 2013. Grower Champagne from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, all chardonnay, all grand cru fruit, with real bottle age behind it. Buy one or buy all three vintages and taste them side by side.
Champagne Fluteau Cuvée Symbiose Brut. Organic, family run, Côte des Bar. The bottle we open when somebody deserves it.
Jean Pernet Rosé Brut Bring it to the table on New Year’s Eve and watch what happens.
The Pernet Vertical
Because three vintages of the same grand cru Champagne in one place is not a thing that happens twice, we are also offering the 2009, 2012 and 2013 as a three bottle vertical for $245, boxed together. One bottle of each, which beats buying the three singly even at the sale price. A serious gift, or a very good reason to invite company.
Cellar Selects follow the same schedule as everything else: order in October, choose your pickup date at checkout, collect on November 7, 8, 14 or 15.
