This single card greeting card is by local artist Mary Jameson. The cards depict some of Mary's prints. Each card is blank inside.
Mary Jameson's inspiration is driven by her relationship to the Ocean. To create, she uses seaweed and a variety of organic materials collected from the intertidal zones along the coast. A key concept to her work is transformation. This involves a process of symbiotic layering, where the known and unknown intersect to challenge thought patterns. Using seaweed as a medium in art making has connected Mary to her local environment in a very literal sense. For most people, seaweed is a nuisance. Mary's work presents a new awareness for consideration and offers new insights into the mysteries and beauty of the marine world.
