Denise Zompa paints colorful, contemporary landscapes in oil. Her paintings of beaches, marshes and fields invite the viewer to enjoy the serene beauty of the New England coast. Living on the cape affords her the opportunity to paint Plein Air in a wonderful coastal environment. Working outdoors informs studio work on larger paintings which become re-imagined landscapes that are more abstract.
Denise is a retired art educator and has continued her study of painting at RISD, Newport Art Museum and Cape Cod Art Center. Her work has received many awards in juried art exhibitions in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She participated in South Coast Artist Open Studio Tours for 12 years before moving to the Cape in 2018.
